Attorney Ilene Beth Friend of Malibu has been hired by the law firm Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton in Oxnard. Previously, she was with Dependency Legal Services in Monterey Park.
Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton is a general practice law firm.
* Joe Chow has been appointed public affairs manager for the Gas Co. in Ventura County. He replaces Marcia Secord, who retired.
Chow joined the company in 1989 and has held positions in accounting and finance, law and public affairs.
* Mel Sheeler, vice president of Hilford Moving & Storage in Ventura, has been named president. He replaces Robert Doane, who will become chairman of the board.
Sheeler has been with Hilford since 1994.
