Weaver Earns Promotion to Class-A
Former Simi Valley High and Fresno State pitcher Jeff Weaver, the 14th overall pick in the June draft, was promoted to the Class-A West Michigan Whitecaps by the Detroit Tigers on Friday.
Weaver was 1-0 with a 1.50 earned-run average and had struck out 12 batters in 12 innings for the Jamestown Jammers of the short-season New York-Penn League.
