2 Die in Apparent Murder-Suicide in San Clemente
The bodies of a man and a woman were found late Sunday outside an apartment complex in San Clemente in what authorities say may be a murder-suicide.
Full details were not available, but officials said one body was found in the middle of the street and the other outside an apartment in the 2200 block of South El Camino Real.
Capt. Scott Brown of the Orange County Fire Authority said firefighters were called to the scene of a fire about 9:35 p.m.
He said firefighters saw the body of a man in the middle of the street and that they heard several “pops,” like gunshots, when they arrived.
A few moments later, the body of the woman was found near her apartment, which was on fire.
Lt. Hector Rivera of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the woman appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
No names were available late Sunday night.
