If It’s a Saturday, It Must Be Simersday
For once, T.J. Simers did something right. He hit the nail right on Randy Moss’ head. [Nov. 28].

Who are T.J. Simers’ sources when he says the Vikings “motivate and embitter [Randy Moss] for better results with constant reminders of how many teams passed on him.”?
By every account I’ve heard, the Vikings have gone to great lengths to reform Moss by, from the beginning, making his mentors ex-bad boy Cris Carter and team “guru” Jerry Ball.
OK, so Moss didn’t talk to reporters after one game (Dallas). That hardly puts him in the same category as Lawrence Phillips (trouble-maker), Deion Sanders (cocky showboat) or Ryan Leaf (petulant hothead).
Maybe T.J. should give the Vikings some credit for going out of their way to take a potentially wayward soul like Moss, and turning him into a first-class NFL record-breaking rookie. Not exactly what I would call ‘child abuse.”

In one more of T.J. Simers’ tiresome litany of lamentations against the Rams [Nov. 29], he smugly asks, “How bad are the Rams?” So what? The Rams might be bad now, but they will undoubtedly get better, unlike Simers, who has sunk to an all-time low, by being an apologist and cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders. I think the sun has baked his brain.
