Kenneth Starr
Robert Scheer’s Dec. 1 Column Left on Kenneth Starr’s incarceration and hounding of Susan McDougal is frightening. We kicked King George III out of the country because we would not put up with tyrants. Now we have a so-called “independent counsel” who is somehow free to trample on those liberties we acquired when we became a nation.
It is time to call for an independent counsel to investigate the abuse of power of Starr, who is neither independent (he is a conservative zealot) nor a true counsel (he is an out-of-control prosecutor who needs to be reined in). If this country continues to allow Starr to abuse the rights of various citizens, then it is time for a new American Revolution.
