After completing final exams and taking a day to visit their families, the Wisconsin Badgers were scheduled to leave Madison this afternoon and arrive at LAX tonight to begin their Rose Bowl preparations.

Players had Tuesday off to study for exams and then practiced Wednesday before being dismissed for a day. They were to meet today at the student center for their charter flight to Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, running back Ron Dayne announced he will return for his senior year instead of making himself eligible for the NFL draft. Dayne has rushed for 4,845 yards and ranks 19th in NCAA history.

Because of airport restrictions, the traditional arrival ceremony and news conference--which include greetings from the Rose Queen and other officials--was moved from the airport to the team’s hotel.
