Disney Takes a Hand in Children’s Museum
One of the largest children’s museums in the country, emphasizing problem-solving as well as fun, opens Tuesday in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area. Designed with the help of educators and Walt Disney Imagineering, Port Discovery’s interactive exhibits are mainly for 6- to 12-year-olds, although programs are available for all ages. Highlights include KidWorks, three stories of space where children can climb, crawl, jump and swing; Adventure Expeditions, which explores ancient Egypt and its culture; and Miss Perception’s Mystery House, which provides puzzles and clues to the “disappearance” of a family.
The museum, in the Fishmarket Building on Market Place, is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission is $10 adults, $7.50 children 3-12, free under 3. Information: tel. (410) 727-8120.
