Holiday Could Be Historic for Solich

A Holiday Bowl victory Wednesday would not only give Nebraska its fifth consecutive bowl victory, but also could make history--Coach Frank Solich would become the first Cornhusker coach to finish his first season with 10 victories.

“Certainly this team would like to have 10 wins, and I’d love to have a 10th win,” Solich said. “But we’re playing this one really so that our ballclub, with playing well and hopefully getting a win, can go out feeling very good about what they accomplished this season. It was a long, tough season for everybody.”
