The City Council will decide Tuesday whether to continue a contract for court liaison services at an increased price. For the last four years, Brea has paid La Habra $40,000 annually for services that include reviewing and filing cases with the district attorney’s office, providing police investigators with the status of the cases and processing subpoenas. This year, the fee will increase to $47,000.

City staff recommended approval of the contract, saying that it would be more expensive to hire a full-time police detective to serve as a liaison. In addition, the contract to provide police services to Yorba Linda should make up about half of the cost, the staff report said. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 1 Civic Center Drive.
