* Brea Mall: Report of a 1991 Honda Civic stolen from the parking lot at 3:18 p.m. Dec. 24.

BUENA PARK

* Knott Avenue: Someone took a flowerpot and smashed the automated teller machine in the 6800 block at 6:28 a.m. Friday. The ATM video camera captured the suspect on tape. The estimated damage to the machine is $25,000 to $50,000.

* Orangethorpe Avenue: Report of a rear license plate stolen from a car in the 7900 block at 10:21 a.m. Saturday.

COSTA MESA

* Bristol Street: A wallet and its contents worth $60 were stolen from a store in the 3300 block about 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

* Pearson Avenue: Report of a prowler in the 2000 block at 1:49 a.m. Tuesday; a male, 18 to 19 years old, wearing a dark sweatshirt with hood was reportedly hiding behind a tree near residence. Prowler had left the scene when officers arrived.

* Associated Road: Report of a petty theft in the 3000 block at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday; beer and candy were taken from store.

* E. Yorba Linda Boulevard: Report of a burglary with an audible alarm in the 3000 block at 6:06 p.m. Monday.

* Knott Avenue: Report of vandalism in the 11000 block at 7:19 p.m. Monday.

* Inwood Lane: An assault and battery was reported in the 7900 block at 2:38 p.m. Saturday. The victim was transported to La Palma Intercommunity Hospital and released three hours later.

* Katella Avenue: Some personal belongings of an employee at a hospital in the 3700 block were reported stolen from a locker at 3:51 p.m. Friday. Among the items taken were 10 credit cards, a checkbook and two sets of keys.
