Bryan Twins Come Up Short in Tennis Final
Twins Bob and Mike Bryan, of Stanford and Rio Mesa High, lost in their bid for a first collegiate grand slam title, losing to Pavel Kudmac and Martin Dvoracek of Oklahoma State, 6-3, 6-4, in the final of the Rolex national Indoor Tennis Championships Saturday at the Brookhaven Club in Dallas.
The Bryans defeated another brother duo, James and Thomas Blake of Harvard, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), in the semifinals Friday.
BASKETBALL
Nuno out: Patricia Nuno, the leading scorer for the Chatsworth High girls’ team, is academically ineligible and will sit out the rest of the season.
Nuno averaged 17.2 points in 17 games for the Chancellors.
