Paw Prints to Be Cast in Cement

First there was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Now, coming to a sidewalk near you, get ready for the Doggy Walk of Fame.

That’s right: For $25, owners of famous--or not-so-famous--dogs can buy a small part of a sidewalk square to immortalize the paw prints of their pooches.

The Walk of Fame will be put together in March in Central Park, at Edwards Street between Slater and Ellis avenues, said Patti Goff, president of the Huntington Beach Dog Park Committee.

“The idea behind the walk is for dog owners to memorialize their pets,” Goff said. “What dog owner wouldn’t want to?”

The interest is so great that the committee has placed a space limit per dog owner. Money raised will go to the committee’s annual events, and the Huntington Beach and Orange County Police K9 associations.
