Council to Decide on Joining Airport Group
After a delay, the City Council is expected to decide next week whether to join a group planning for a commercial airport at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.
The council two weeks ago delayed a vote on membership in the Orange County Regional Airport Authority after the group’s executive director was unable to attend the council meeting.
Airport opponents, including members of the El Toro Reuse Planning Authority, are expected to discourage Yorba Linda’s membership in OCRAA, a state-chartered group of cities involved in planning an airport once the base closes.
Yorba Linda, like many cities in northern and central Orange County, had been a member of the airport authority but dropped out many years ago.
The council meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave. Information: (714) 961-7100.
