Valley Sports TV Show Makes Debut

A weekly television show focusing on high school and college sports in the San Fernando Valley will debut Saturday at 8:30 a.m. on Time Warner Communications’ cable system in the West Valley.

The live show on ESPN2 will be hosted by Eric Sondheimer, deputy sports editor of The Times’ Valley-Ventura County edition, and broadcaster Randy Rosenbloom.

The first show will feature basketball playoff highlights from the Chaminade boys’ and El Camino Real girls’ games.

Northridge football Coach Ron Ponciano will be a studio guest and take calls. There will be a preview of the top five high school baseball teams in the region.

Time Warner created the show to increase local programming, according to Alan Popkin, director of production for the Chatsworth-based cable company.
