Pierce College
Re “Revenue Plan for Pierce Site Jeopardized,” Feb. 5.
Your article quotes Pierce College President [E. Bing] Inocencio as saying, “I didn’t come here to preside over a public park.” With his never-ending attempts to transform the beautiful Pierce College campus into a series of mini-malls and fast-food joints, one must wonder what the heck he did come here for.
Three cheers for Councilwoman Laura Chick for standing up for the little people in the community; she gets my vote. As for Inocencio, when is the Board of Trustees going to realize that the longer they let this development zealot continue to start a real estate career on the backs of taxpayers instead of actually managing the college as he was hired to do, the more the public will distrust their ability to oversee and demand change.
