Robbery Suspect Is Shot in Head
FULLERTON — A suspect in a computer store robbery was in critical condition late Friday after he apparently struggled with an employee and was shot in the head, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, entered Level Computers Inc. on State College Boulevard in Fullerton about 6:20 p.m., along with three or four others, police said. A fight ensued between several employees and the men, who were demanding cash.
During the struggle, a shot was fired and one of the robbers was hit, Lt. Geoff Spalding said. Police believe the gun belonged to the suspect, he said.
The man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he remained in critical condition.
Three store employees were treated for minor injuries they sustained during the scuffle, Spalding said.
Police were unable to locate the injured man’s alleged accomplices, who fled the scene immediately after the shooting, he said.
