Murray Returns to Score 16 in Win
Forward Lamond Murray, who sat out two games last week because of a sprained right hand and wrist, was sent into Friday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors at the start of the second quarter by Clipper Coach Bill Fitch.
“He’s been working extra at his shooting because he’s been away for a week,” Fitch said. “He stayed after the shoot-around and worked.”
Murray, who was averaging 16.9 points when playing 25 minutes or more, was injured when he fell after taking a charge in the second quarter of a 99-77 loss at Boston on Dec. 21.
Murray downplayed the injury.
“I’m happy to be back, that’s all,” said Murray, who scored 16 points against the Warriors, making seven of 12 shots in 26 minutes.

Guard James Robinson, signed to a $10.5-million, five-year contract last summer, shot a career-worst 28.7% in his first 27 games this season and hopes to play a bigger role.
“Around here, you never know what’s going to happen,” Robinson said. “In other situations, you know exactly when you’re going to go in. Around here, you’ve just got to stay on edge.
“You never know when you’re going to get in the game. It’s taken me this long to adjust to it. I’ve been in the league five years and it’s taken me a while to adjust to the way [Fitch] coaches.”
Robinson played only eight minutes Friday, making one of three shots.
