Santa Clara Beats Anteaters, 63-56

Santa Clara, which trailed only once, defeated visiting UC Irvine, 63-56, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday in Santa Clara.

Shannon Anders hit a three-pointer to put Irvine ahead, 3-2, but that was the only lead for the Anteaters (5-6).

Leticia Oseguera had 16 points and Megan Stafford finished with 14 for UC Irvine. The Broncos (9-4) are 5-0 at home.
