STINGRAYS TONIGHT
Opponent--Atlanta Glory.
Time--7:30.
Records--Long Beach 16-11, Atlanta 11-16.
Site--Pyramid, Long Beach State.
Update--Hoping to start a new winning streak and extend the Glory’s three-game losing streak, the StingRays look for a better result than Sunday’s ugly 88-80 loss to Seattle. Atlanta has the league’s leading scorer in player-coach Teresa Edwards, but is the ABL’s eighth-ranked defensive team, giving up 79.4 points a game. Long Beach leads the league in offense at 80.2 points. In their only previous meeting this season, at Georgia Tech, Long Beach beat Atlanta, 85-71. Edwards, a ’96 Olympian, had 24 that night, Long Beach’s Yolanda Griffith 26.
