City Golf Course May Get New Clubhouse
A proposed new clubhouse at the 123-acre San Clemente Municipal Golf Course would replace facilities built 35 years ago at the 18-hole course.
The City Council tonight will consider spending $22,224 to hire James Goodman Architecture to do a conceptual study. At issue is whether to consolidate three existing buildings into the new clubhouse, including a banquet room for about 160 people.
The current clubhouse at 150 E. Avenida Magdalena includes a golf pro shop, a coffee shop, bar, lounge, kitchen and restroom facilities.
The San Juan Capistrano-based architecture firm has previously completed clubhouse projects at various golf courses, including Tustin Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch and Ojai Valley Inn and Country Club. Final approval for the project is expected in June.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. at 100 Avenida Presidio.
