Acting President Named at Saddleback
Richard D. McCullough, a biology professor and former dean at Saddleback College, was recently appointed as acting president.
McCullough will fill the vacancy left by Ned Doffoney, who left Jan. 1 to become president of the new South Louisiana Community College.
McCullough, a Mission Viejo resident, has spent more than 30 years in education, first as a teacher, then an administrator.
Since 1971, he has worked in biological sciences and was the department’s chairman from 1985 to 1991.
He was named acting dean, and in 1994 the permanent dean, of the division of mathematics, science and engineering.
He has served as president of the Academic Senate and chief contract negotiator of the Faculty Assn.
The nationwide search for a permanent college president will start in the spring.
