The Carolina Panthers and the NFL Management Council have filed a lawsuit against former Panther linebacker Kevin Greene and the NFL Players’ Assn. in an attempt to collect a $350,000 signing bonus.

The arbitrator made the ruling after determining that it was paid with the understanding that Greene would play for the Panthers in 1997. But Greene didn’t report to training camp because he wanted his contract renegotiated. He was eventually released and signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
