WESTMINSTER--Little Saigon is the site of the Tet Festival, marking the Vietnamese new year Thursday through next Sunday. There will be ethnic food, arts and crafts, live music, and beauty and singing contests. SAN DIEGO--The year of the tiger will roar to life at the 15th annual Chinese New Year Food & Cultural Faire, a street festival Saturday and next Sunday. Activities include lion dancing, performances by Chinese acrobats, a Chinese folk dancing performance, and demonstrations of brush painting, cooking and martial arts. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at 3rd Avenue and J Street. $3, $2 ages 3-12, under 3 free. BAKERSFIELD--The annual Kern County Arts, Crafts and Music Festival, Feb. 7-8, will have a Valentine theme to honor the impending holiday. An organizer said hearts will adorn many items, with vendors selling country folk art, stained-glass, dolls, woodworking, clothing and more. CAMARILLO--The International Food & Music Festival, Feb. 7, will sample various cultures. BORREGO SPRINGS--Baskets will be woven, pots made and acorns ground at Native American Days, Feb. 7-8, at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, 200 Palm Canyon Drive. The event, featuring demonstrations of traditional skills, celebrates the cultures of the Kumeyaay and Cahuilla tribes. There will also be traditional singing, nature walks and crafts for sale.
