I-5 Work Will Close Freedman Way Ramps
Southbound ramps at Freedman Way in Anaheim will remain closed through late Wednesday as work continues to widen the Santa Ana Freeway.
The I-5 ramps will reopen for Thursday morning freeway commuters, officials said Monday.
The closure will allow crews to build temporary ramps as Freedman Way is realigned to accommodate the freeway widening.
For southbound motorists, officials suggested using the Ball Road-Ox Road exit as an alternative route. Motorists who want to get on the freeway’s southbound lanes from Freedman Way should continue on that street to the Manchester Avenue onramp. Signs will be posted to direct traffic.
The construction work is part of the $1.1-billion project to improve the Santa Ana Freeway through north Orange County.
