ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

PNB Financial Group: The Newport Beach parent company of Pacific National Bank reported that net income for the second quarter totaled a record $1.8 million, or 63 cents a share, up 50% from $1.2 million, or 44 cents a share, for the 1997 second quarter. First-half net income grew 67% to $3.5 million, or $1.23 a share, from $2.1 million, or 79 cents a share, for the like period last year. Total assets increased 30% to $267.4 million from $205.2 million.
