Working Magic on Several New Screens
Magic Johnson is in for a busy weekend. As he preps for the Monday premiere of his syndicated late-night talk show, the former Los Angeles Lakers star also is holding a grand opening for three screens added at his Magic Johnson Theatres complex in the Crenshaw District. The addition that opens this weekend features auditorium-style seating and makes the complex one of Los Angeles’ largest, with 15 screens and 4,100 seats. The expansion includes a larger concession area. “We’d like to use the new space to try some different types of films, including art products,” said Eufaula Garrett, marketing director for Beverly Hills-based Magic Johnson Development.
