Graduate Student Awarded Fellowship

UC Irvine anthropology graduate student Erica Lynn Bornstein has received one of only 35 fellowships awarded nationwide by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation in Princeton, N.J.

More than 420 graduate students from 93 universities applied for the fellowships, which are awarded to students whose doctoral dissertations explore broad questions of ethical or religious values.

Bornstein’s dissertation is titled: “The Good Life: Religions NGO’s and the Moral Politics of Economic Development in Zimbabwe.”

Each fellow will receive $15,000.
