ALL IN THE FAMILY
So WB entertainment president Garth Ancier feels that traditional family shows have suffered due to Nickelodeon (“Family? Valueless.” by Brian Lowry, June 14). The blame actually falls on obtuse, visionless executives like Ancier.
The WB network airs the moronic, uninspired “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” as well as the feckless, near-aphrodisiacal “Dawson’s Creek.” How could Ancier have the gall to claim that the lack of shows for the entire family is “discouraging”?
The fact that Ancier’s name is also on one of the all-time lousiest series for young people, “The Ricki Lake Show,” means he’s responsible for serving more junk to kids than all the fast-food franchises combined.
By the way, I don’t have to forbid my children to watch the WB network. They think it’s just as awful as I do.
