Southland Home Designs Outshine Competition

SAN FRANCISCO — Southern California home builders and architects won 20 of 43 Grand Awards--including the Attached Residential Project of the Year--in the Gold Nugget design competition at the 1998 Western Building Show, which ended Saturday at the Moscone Convention Center.

The design contest, the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States, was the highlight of the 40th annual convention that brings together developers and related professionals from 14 Western states and Pacific Rim countries.

The Gold Nugget competition honors achievements in architecture and land planning for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
