An East Los Angeles organization will receive a $25,000 grant to bring drama, dance and music lessons to youngsters at the Aliso-Pico housing project, Edelman Children’s Court and seven East Los Angeles public schools.

The Los Angeles Music & Art School is one of five local organizations that will receive grants totaling $105,000 in grants as winners in Edison International’s “Arts for the Community” program.

“It’s great because now we can extend our outreach program and go to children who can’t come to us,” said Anna De Anda, office manager for the school, which was founded in 1945.
