BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A woman diagnosed with multiple psychological disorders was ordered to spend 30 to 60 years in prison for a campus shooting rampage that left a Penn State student dead.
Jillian Robbins, 21, agreed to plead guilty to third-degree murder and to trying to kill four other students on Sept. 17, 1996.
Prosecutor Ray Gricar said he accepted Friday’s plea agreement because he was concerned a jury would find Robbins not guilty by reason of insanity.
Melanie Spalla, 21, was killed.
