Five people remained hospitalized with minor injuries Monday as the remaining passengers of a US Airways flight, which made an emergency landing in Oklahoma City after hitting turbulence, arrived at Los Angeles International Airport.

Six people, including one off-duty and four on-duty flight attendants, were injured Sunday night when a Boeing 757 hit clear air turbulence about 80 miles south of Wichita, Kan.

Flight 7, which was bound for Los Angeles from Pittsburgh, had 120 passengers on board, airline spokesman Paul Turk said.

Five people were taken to Hillcrest Health Center in Oklahoma City. The injured complained of scrapes, cuts, and neck and back pains, said Jeff Bilyeu, operations officer at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City.

Passenger Steven Justice called it “one of the most terrifying experiences of my life.”

“You have that split second where you think the plane is going to crash,” Justice said. “I was sitting next to a lady and she was screaming, ‘Please don’t let me lose my baby!’ ”
