Youth, Family Center Celebrates Repairs
The Pacoima Youth and Family Center celebrated its grand opening this week.
Funding for renovations at the center, formerly called the Pacoima Community Center, came from a $280,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Renovations included an additional 950 square feet of office space; a new courtyard; a remodeled meeting room that can accommodate up to 150 people, and spruced up offices and restrooms.
The center, at 11243 Glenoaks Blvd., is home to several agencies, including Pacoima Beautiful, a nonprofit group dedicated to improving Pacoima, and the L.A. Family Housing Corp., a nonprofit group that helps homeless people become more self-sufficient.
