Registered Sex Offender Held in 3 Attacks
A registered sex offender suspected in the attempted rape and sexual assault of three woman over a period of 1 1/2 hours is being held on $1.7 million bail, authorities said.
Robert Broussard, 51, allegedly broke into three homes in the downtown area early Saturday and attacked the women, said Police Lt. Gil Kranke.
He was arrested on charges of sexual assault, attempted rape, oral copulation, penetration by a foreign object, burglary and attempted burglary.
Kranke said a detective recognized Broussard from a previous arrest. Fingerprints from the scene allegedly matched fingerprints onfile, and one victim identified Broussard as the attacker.
