MTV Awards Draw High Ratings

Thursday’s telecast of the “MTV Video Music Awards” drew the awards’ highest TV ratings since 1990, with an estimated 5.8 million viewing households tuning in, MTV said on Friday.
The show was also the highest-rated program of the “Video Music Awards’ ” 15-year history in the station’s target demographic of 12- to 34-year-olds, with nearly one out of every three cable viewers in that age group tuning in, the cable channel said.
