Steven L. Muellner Is Named Variflex President
Variflex Inc. in Moorpark, a provider of recreational products, has named Steven L. Muellner as president.
Jay Losi, who had been serving as both president and chief executive officer, will continue as chief executive officer.
From July 1996 to May 1998, the 48-year-old Muellner was president and co-chief executive officer of Applause Enterprises, where he helped return the company to profitability. He has also served as executive vice president for sales and marketing at Caradon Doors & Windows and as president of LouverDrape, a division of Home Fashions Inc.
“Steve Muellner brings to Variflex a solid record of accomplishments,” said Variflex chairman Mark S. Siegel. “We believe that the team of Jay Losi and Steve Muellner will provide Variflex with the leadership necessary to take advantage of the company’s competitive strengths and creative capabilities.”
Variflex is a wholesaler and distributor of in-line skates, skateboards, recreational safety helmets and athletic protective equipment to the mass market. The company also sells Quik Shade, a portable instant canopy, and markets snowboards and related accessories.
