Movies and Thousand Oaks

I read this article with some interest and great amusement. Perhaps I am blase about how many movies have been shot in the Thousand Oaks area, because I live on the “set” of “Wuthering Heights.” That’s right, all those rolling moors were filmed where my house now stands, right near Cal Lutheran University.

I found it tremendously amusing to think that there would be some sort of dramatic change in the way people think of Thousand Oaks, knowing that several well-known movies were filmed here. The price of my house has not been driven up because Laurence Olivier may have stood in what would become my backyard. It also rather scared me to think that the mayor of Thousand Oaks didn’t know such a obvious and interesting piece of this town’s history.
