A local anti-crime group offered a reward of up to $1,000 Tuesday for information leading to the arrest of the suspected teenage triggerman in last week’s fatal shooting of a Herbert Hoover High School student.

Glendale police have identified the suspect as Artiom Badalyan, 17.

Police allege that Badalyan shot Avetis “Avo” Demirchyan, 15, once in the stomach at 5:20 p.m Thursday.

The after-school shooting followed a lunchtime argument on the Hoover High campus, according to Glendale police spokesman Sgt. Rick Young.

Demirchyan died from his wounds two day later at County/USC Medical Center.

Two Hoover High School students have been booked on suspicion of murder in connection with the killing, including a 15-year-old juvenile and 18-year-old Babken Santrosyan. The pair are believed to be accomplices in the shooting.

Police said the alleged gunman’s last known address was 1150 Irving Ave., Glendale.

The reward is being offered by Glendale Crime Stoppers in cooperation with Glendale police.

Anyone with further information should call Glendale Investigator Susan Hayn at (818) 548-3987, or the 24-hour number, (818) 548-4840.
