No. 4 UCLA (1-0) at HOUSTON (0-2)

* Kickoff: 12:30 p.m., FX

* Story line: The marquee games of the Bruins’ nonconference schedule--home vs. Texas, at Miami--bookend the trip to 20,500-seat Robertson Stadium for what should be a blowout. UCLA won last season at the Rose Bowl, 66-10, as Cade McNown passed for four touchdowns and 297 yards in the first half alone.

* UCLA update: The Bruins have said all the right things about not looking past Houston, but will human nature prevail? Even a bad day shouldn’t translate into a close game, so UCLA will be trying to meet other objectives. Namely, looking sharp for four quarters, or one more than last week, and to avoid injury.

* Houston update: The Cougars have lost to Cal and Minnesota, but by four and seven points, respectively, which either offers encouragement or frustration. Or neither. “Disappointment,” Coach Kim Helton said.

* Edge to UCLA: Make that a big edge. Everything’s bigger in Texas, right?

* Line: UCLA by 27 1/2
