Museum to Close for Renovation
The Los Alamitos Museum will be closed for renovations from Tuesday to Dec. 7.
Plans include a new coat of paint, flooring and carpeting for the museum, which opened in 1976 inside a volunteer fire station at 11062 Los Alamitos Blvd.
Also slated are display changes. Museum directors and volunteers are trying to decide what to keep on display and what to store--and they want the public’s input, said Liz Myers, museum president.
Residents are invited to help volunteers go through materials at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
“We want to give it some thought so it’s more of a reflection of the history and growth in this area,” Myers said.
