Equestrian League to Open Season
The Interscholastic Equestrian League will hold its first competition of the season 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
Founded in 1993, the league provides horseback riding competition on four levels--varsity, junior varsity, freshman and novice--for more than 120 students, representing more than 40 public and private schools. Upcoming meets are set for Oct. 18, Dec. 5-6, March 21 and April 25.

The Orange County Horse Show Assn. will hold its 15th Championship Show Oct. 22-25 at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Admission is free.
More than 250 riders have qualified to compete by finishing among the top three in their divisions at one of more than 70 OCHSA-sanctioned shows throughout the county during the year. Contestants will jump their horses or ponies over obstacles ranging up to five feet.
