Irvine-based Javelin Systems Inc., which designs, markets and sells touch-screen computers for the food industry, has acquired Dynamic Technologies Inc., a Philadelphia-based provider of software and services for the Internet and in-house intranet computer networks, Javelin officials announced Monday.

Javelin is paying $15 million in cash and stock for DTI, in an effort to position the Irvine company as a leader in providing computer products to the food service industry, said Richard Stack, Javelin president and chief executive officer.

Javelin was founded in 1995 and has 260 employees. DTI and its approximately 50 employees will continue to operate out of Philadelphia. No layoffs are expected, DTI officials said.
