LAKE FOREST

The City Council last week heard a request from Mike Lakey, president of the band boosters at El Toro High School, to block off portions of Toledo Way for a number of days next month so that the band may practice for a competition in Portland, Ore. The parade route during the competition is 5 1/2 miles long. The days requested for the road closures are May 15, 22, 29, 31 and June 5. All are Saturdays except for May 31, which is Memorial Day. The council directed city staff to look into the matter.
