UCLA : AROUND THE NATION : Alabama’s Defense Is Taking a Big Hit

Three Alabama linebackers, including starter Miguel Merritt, were suspended from Saturday’s opener against Vanderbilt. Chris Horne, Merritt’s backup at outside linebacker, and backup middle linebacker Canary Knight were suspended for a violation of team rules, Coach Mike DuBose said. The Tuscaloosa News reported they were suspended for missing classes last year and the matter is now being resolved.
