Soccer
Junior goalkeeper Sean Rockwell has a torn ligament in his right knee and will miss Cal State Fullerton’s men’s soccer season.
Rockwell is scheduled to have surgery on Sept. 20, according to Coach Al Mistri. The loss of Rockwell leaves the Titans with two goalkeepers, junior Scott Alexander and freshman Josh Sanders. Sanders played last year at El Toro High.
Mistri said Alexander will replace Rockwell. The Titans, ranked 13th by Soccer America and 19th by the National Soccer Coaches Assn., open their season Friday at home against Syracuse.
A spokesman for the U.S. Soccer Federation said the federation has invited Iran to play a match in the United States, hopefully to be played sometime later this year.
