The La Habra Don’t Provide Tobacco to Minors Task Force found that five out of six liquor stores during November were in compliance with the new city ordinance that bans self-serve cigarette racks.
“This is really good for La Habra,” said Minday Murachver, community organizer for YMCA-Communities in Prevention North, a liaison to the task force.
The task force, which works in conjunction with the La Habra Police Department, withheld the name of the liquor store that violated the ordinance. But Murachver said the city is giving the store owners time to comply with the law, which the owners had said they were not aware of.
