Christmas Dinner at School Tonight
El Rio families have been invited to a Christmas dinner tonight at Rio del Valle School.
The sixth annual family Christmas dinner is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the middle school, 3100 Rose Ave. The Rio Elementary School District and the Rio California School Employees Assn. are jointly sponsoring the event.
Teachers and administrators organize and cook the Christmas dinner, and district employees and local merchants donate turkeys and other food.
Educators expect as many as 700 dinners to be served. Last year they served more than 600 dinners.
