Residents who have been pushing for televised City Council meetings may have found a savior.

Joe Geissinger, the La Habra Heights man who has been taping City Council meetings in his hometown at no charge for seven years, has said he is willing to help La Habra get on the air.

The audio and video specialist at UCLA said he has already checked out the City Council chambers at La Habra after requests for help from a couple of local citizens.

“It needs help,” Geissinger said about the poor sound system currently being used during meetings. “But it’s doable.” He plans to help the city make repairs to the aging system so he can tape meetings with a video camera and deliver the tape to the local cable provider--the same thing he does in La Habra Heights.
