Buster B Bimbo Wins for Pincay

Buster B Bimbo, a 2-year-old that had lost his three previous starts by 57 3/4 lengths, was the shocking winner of Wednesday’s sixth race at Hollywood Park, giving jockey Laffit Pincay the 8,836th victory of his career.

Buster B Bimbo was Pincay’s second victory since Friday, when his 8,334th win broke the record that had been held by Bill Shoemaker.

Buster B Bimbo won by 2 1/2 lengths over Pizza N Beer, the 3-5 favorite, and paid $70.80 for $2. Buster B Bimbo was saddled by Jack Van Berg, whose I Be Casual gave Pincay win No. 8,833 to tie Shoemaker a week ago today.
