Cal State Fullerton 98, Eastern Kentucky 83--Ike Harmon scored 22 points and Kenroy Jarrett added a career-high 21 as the Titans (4-5) used their running game to make up for the loss of center Matt Caldwell in beating the Colonels (5-4) before 772 at Titan Gym.

All of the Titans’ starters scored in double figures with Mark Murphy and Brandon Campbell finishing with 16 points apiece and sophomore Josh Fischer, who replaced Caldwell, scoring 12.

Caldwell is scheduled to undergo surgery next week for a recurring shoulder injury and will be sidelined the rest of the season.

The Titans missed Caldwell’s muscle inside, particularly trying to hold off Eastern Kentucky on the defensive board, but Fullerton managed to overcome those shortcomings with its quickness and 61.3% shooting in the second half.

Tempers flared twice, however. Harmon was restrained by Titan Coach Bob Hawking after getting into an argument with a Eastern Kentucky player while walking off the floor during a timeout.

Not long afterward, the Colonels’ 6-foot-10 freshman center, Chris Garnett, was ejected after a flagrant foul against Fischer.
